Using
Credit Cards over the Internet Continues to Haunt
Internet Users.
E
Trusted Reviews recently ran into a news article about
an update on users who are comfortable with using
their credit card to purchase products and services
on the internet. Recently published information in
the EMarketer
shows that only 6.4% of people are are comfortable
and this is up from 5.5% in 2001.
Why
is this important? Because we are missing out on many
commissions that are lost because of people who just
can't bring them self to purchase any thing over the
internet. There is allot of people who are searching
the internet every day and since only 6.4% of the
people are comfortable with purchasing goods online,
we are losing out big time.
This
doesn't mean that 93.6% of the people are not going
to buy, it just means they are scared to buy something.
Some of them will still use their credit card and
many of them might look for alternative ways to purchase
the product.
With
a rise in secure payment servers like Pay Pal, Clickbank,
Go Daddy, and others, this number could turn around
in the years to come. As affiliates we need to make
sure that we are providing customers with information
about WHY their credit card information will be ok.
Affiliates reach a large number of people and if we
are getting the word out, then hopefully we can raise
this international average of 6.4% and in return,
increase profits in our own pockets.
There
will always be a large amount of people who will not
purchase anything with a credit card over the internet.
But the percentage is high right now, and it must
change in order for many affiliates to make more money
on the internet. |
